Needles and consumables are single-use, and the treatment space is kept sanitized. Depending on the condition, a cover-up is often split across several sessions, and we usually refine the color and shape with a touch-up (retouch) around 6โ8 weeks later. How long it lasts and the result vary with the state of the previous work and your skin.
Reading what is already there
Correction does not start with redrawing โ it starts with reading the colour still in the skin.Brows that read red and brows that read grey or blue carry different remaining pigment, and the direction of the fix is opposite in each case.
A daylight close-up of the brows helps, along with when the work was done, how many times, and whether removal has ever been attempted.A history of removal changes how the remaining colour is distributed, which changes the whole approach.
Covering and removing are different jobs
Covering lays new colour and design over what remains; removing reduces the pigment itself.What decides which is possible is the texture of the residue more than how dark it is โ if it feels firm or the strokes are ridged, colour laid over it will not sit evenly.
CYAN is a PMU studio, not a medical facility, so laser pigment removal is not something we do.Where a case is not coverable, we point you to a medical provider, and we say so plainly when that is the better route.
What determines the cost of a cover-up
How strong the remaining colour is matters most.If it has faded well, a new design laid over it often tidies everything up.If it is still dark, that colour has to be counteracted and built over across more than one session, which adds work.
How much you want the shape to change also matters.Tidying within the existing outline is one job; moving the line itself because it no longer suits your face is another.If lightening the old colour has to run alongside the work, those sessions are counted in too.

How far the shape can actually change
Going bigger than the current shape is generally possible, because the old line can be absorbed inside the new design.Going smaller is limited.Colour sitting outside the new outline cannot be covered away; it has to be lightened first.
Moving the position depends on direction too.Lifting the brow slightly or widening the head of it is fairly free.Bringing it down or narrowing it leaves the old colour exposed, so lightening first gives a cleaner result.
So the first thing we do in the consultation is draw out the shape that is there now.Laying your desired shape over it makes the split visible: what can be handled by covering, and what has to come out first.
How long a cover-up takes from start to finish
Cover-ups often do not finish in one sitting.The colour is built while counteracting what is underneath, and it needs time to settle between sessions, so the next appointment usually falls six to eight weeks later.
If lightening runs alongside the work, the timeline stretches further.Each lightened area also has to settle fully and the colour has to resolve before the next step, or the final colour will not sit evenly.

Can brows that turned red or blue be covered too?
We approach it by neutralizing according to the discolored tone and covering with a new color. That said, the result and the number of sessions needed vary a lot with how dark it is, the area and the degree of discoloration. What is actually possible is best confirmed in consultation after seeing the brows in person.
Which is better, removal or cover-up?
They serve different purposes. CYAN does cover-up work that redesigns over the existing brows. When the color is very dark, doing the cover-up after it has faded somewhat can be better for the result, so we look at the condition and advise on timing.
Does it take just one session?
If the previous work is faint, it can be done in relatively few sessions; but if it is dark or heavily discolored, it may run across several sessions. The number of sessions and the schedule are decided together in consultation after looking at the condition.
