Lip Tattoo (Lip Blush) in Hongdae, CYAN

When you look for a lip tattoo in Hongdae, what matters is the healthy color that matches your own tone. Lip color shapes the brightness and impression of your whole face. CYAN's lip blush is not about laying down a heavy lipstick shade — it is about lifting your natural lip color a shade brighter, so your lips look fresh even without makeup. It suits people who want to change a dull or dark look that reads as "tired."

Lip color only looks natural when your natural lip color, skin tone and desired mood are read together. Since the same pigment settles into a different final color on each person, rather than recommending one popular shade, we help you compare tones and decide in consultation.

Rather than a trending shade you like today, we look for the tone that will suit your face once the color has settled over time. Lips are strongly affected by flaking and dryness, so how well moisturized they are before and after affects the result; right after the session the color looks darker, and it may swell or scab before fading and settling over a few days.

Needles and consumables are single-use, and the treatment space is kept sanitized. We usually use a touch-up (retouch) around 6–8 weeks later to even out the color and depth, and how long it lasts varies with lifestyle factors such as smoking, sun exposure and lip exfoliation care. We explain the recovery process and aftercare after your treatment.

Why the base colour decides the outcome

Pigment does not cover; it layers over the colour your lips already carry and is read together with it.So lips that lean dark, purple or brown will show a different result from the same pigment. It is the difference between painting the same colour onto white paper and onto grey.

If your base leans dark, a stage that evens out the cast comes before the colour you want. That stage is not there to make the lips look brighter on its own — it prepares the base so the next stage reads properly.

How many sessions it takes

Lips see a lot of saliva, food and cell turnover, so colour fades comparatively fast.Building it lightly and completing it with a retouch once the skin has healed is steadier than going dark in one pass.

Colour looking lighter within the first month is part of settling, not a signal to rush the retouch.Where the base needs evening out first, the number of sessions goes up — that is judged on the actual lips and explained in the consultation.

What determines the cost of lip blush

How dark your natural lip colour is matters most.If your lips are pale and even, the tone you want comes up relatively quickly. If the base is dark or patchy, that colour has to be neutralised as the work builds, which adds both time and sessions.

An older lip tattoo changes things again. If the previous colour is still strong, or has bled past the lip line, the plan has to work out what needs counteracting before any new colour goes on.Extending beyond your natural lip line also varies with how much extension you want.

That is why we do not quote a figure before seeing your lips.In the consultation we look at your current base colour, your lip line and the tone you are after, and give you a figure along with the number of sessions.Price ranges are listed in the pricing guide below.

What changes with the condition of your lips

If your lips are usually dry and flake easily, keeping them well moisturised for a few days beforehand helps the colour go in more evenly.Colour does not settle uniformly across a surface that is already lifting.

If you have deep vertical lines, building the colour in light layers works better than going dark in one pass. The creases hold relatively less pigment, so trying to fill them in a single session can make the texture stand out more, not less.

If downturned corners are what bother you, we lift the line very slightly at the corners.Straying far from your natural lip line looks unnatural, though, so how far to go is something we settle together in front of the mirror.

How long swelling and flaking last, and when to book

For two or three days afterwards your lips are swollen and the colour looks at its darkest. Many people are alarmed by the colour at this stage, but it is not the final colour. If you have an important occasion or a shoot coming up, leave at least two weeks between it and your appointment.

Around a week in, a thin layer flakes away and the colour drops noticeably.Picking at it lifts the colour from that spot, so leave it alone. The colour settles at around four to six weeks, and a second session at six to eight weeks fills in whatever is short.

Lips in particular are often split across sessions, so it is easier to book the second visit at the same time as the first. If you are travelling from another region or from abroad, we adjust the depth of the first session to fit when you can realistically return.

Frequently asked questions

Will lip blush make my lips look dark?

Right after the session the color comes up looking dark, but it is common for it to settle over a few days — as the scabbing lifts — into a lighter, more natural, healthy tone. The depth and tone you want are decided in consultation, so if a dark color feels like too much, it can be adjusted to something softer.

How do I choose the color?

We decide by looking at your natural lip color, skin tone and the lip shades you usually reach for. Since the same pigment develops differently on each person, it is best to compare a few tones in consultation and find the direction that suits you.

Is there anything to be careful about before the session?

Depending on the condition of your lips — dryness, breakouts and so on — whether and when the session can go ahead may change, so we check their condition together in the pre-treatment consultation. If the session is not advisable or there are precautions, we let you know in advance.

How much does lip blush in Hongdae cost?

Price ranges for each service are published on the pricing page, so you can look before you come. Where within that range you land is decided once we see your lips. Send an enquiry through the form and we will arrange a time; after looking at your lips we give you a figure that includes the number of sessions. You are free to decide after hearing it.

When can I wear lipstick again?

We suggest waiting until the flaking has finished and the surface is smooth again. That is usually around a week, but it varies, so if any part is still lifting it is better to wait a little longer. Until then, focus on keeping your lips moisturised, and avoid harsh products and long-wear tints that are difficult to remove.
