CYAN ACADEMY currently has students from Singapore, Malaysia, Spain, Chile, the United States and Poland.I've also watched what they actually run into once they're home.Here's what really gets in the way when you start in your own country, in order.
Note: rules differ sharply by country.Japan, for example, treats PMU as a medical act, so the premise is entirely different there.This is general information, not legal advice โ confirm your own country's requirements.
Can you use what you learned back home as-is?
The technique carries.The regulations and the materials do not. Check those two first.
Regulation here means who is permitted to perform PMU in that country and under what conditions. It varies enormously โ some places require only hygiene registration, others classify it as medical.

The same technique can produce a different result. So bring your details when you come.

What does pigment theory change?
Your judgement survives a change of brand. That's the practical reason to learn it.
Learn only technique and all you have is "use this pigment like this" โ so the day it's unavailable, you're back at zero.Understand why colour stays and shifts and you can meet a new brand and adapt.
Technique is tied to materials.Principles aren't tied to anything.
The more your materials can change, the more the principles are worth.
What if your clients' skin is different?
Different undertone and thickness mean the same pigment reads differently. This one comes up constantly.
Colour theory covers how a pigment reads once mixed with the skin's undertone. Yellow-toned, red-toned and deeper skin each take the same pigment differently, which is where experience across a range of skin tones pays.
Reading undertone comes first.A practical method is to look at the vein colour on the inner wrist alongside the tone behind the ear, because judging by eye under a lamp alone drifts from person to person.And go one step lighter than target on a first pass โ colour that went in too dark is hard to walk back, colour that went in light can be lifted at retouch.
Different skin means changing the combination, not the colour.
What happens when you get stuck at home?
Feedback continues for up to one year after you finish.For international students this is the part that matters most.

Time zones don't interfere, since it all runs on photos and video. If anything, the first months after you get home are when questions peak, because that's when the first clients arrive.
The real start isn't the last day of class. It's your first client.
How do you get a first client at home?
Same as in Korea.The healed portfolio brings them.
The first thing to do after you get home isn't advertising, it's stacking photos โ one month healed, not fresh, and shot at the same angle and lighting so there's something to compare.

Language is an asset too.What builds repeat business isn't that you trained in Korea, it's being able to explain the healing process precisely in your own language.Cover the consultation module while you're training and it's immediately useful.
In any country, the thing that brings a first client is the work.
Can you continue without returning to Korea?
Yes.The online course has lifetime access, so it keeps working after you leave.
Where dates can't be moved, on-site classes are possible for an additional fee, and we've run them in several countries.
It's also worth planning across two or three years: on the first trip get one area properly into your hands, go home and build results with only that, then add the next area once bookings stabilise.
You don't have to take everything home in one trip.
How do you source pigments and devices at home?
Check what you can actually buy before you come to learn.
Depending on the country there are restricted items โ pigments or devices whose import or sale is blocked by regulation. If that applies, settle on a workable substitute set in advance and you can train on exactly that combination while you are here.

Build your own reference set from day one. Photograph every client at the same three points โ the day, one week, one month โ under the same light, and within a year you'll have data on your market that no course can hand you. Skin behaves differently by climate and by population, and the artists who adapt fastest are the ones keeping records rather than relying on memory.
What happens if I get stuck after going home?
