Eyes are often the first feature we notice. Gaps along the lash line can reduce definition, making the eyes appear tired or less expressive.
If you apply eyeliner daily, permanent eyeliner can reduce the hassle of smudging and reapplying it. If you rarely wear makeup, it can add subtle definition without an obvious makeup effect.
Men also choose lash enhancement to soften a tired or indistinct appearance. By carefully filling only the gaps between the lashes, we can give the eyes greater definition without a visible drawn line.

Outer-corner eyeliner
When a full line makes your eyes look smaller
Designed for eyes that appear short or round, or where a line extending to the inner corner feels too heavy. We leave the inner corner soft, fill between the lashes from the middle of the eye, and gently extend the outer corner. This draws attention outward for a more elongated, open-looking eye shape. If you usually apply eyeliner only from the centre outwards, we refine that familiar shape to suit your face and eyes.

Before drawing a line, we assess what makes your eyes look less open.
Eyes can look small for different reasons: gaps along the lash line, short outer corners, or proportions that make the eyes appear close together.
CYAN first listens to your concerns. With your eyes open, we assess their width, outer-corner direction, eyelid crease and spacing.
We enhance the areas that need definition, without automatically making every eye darker or larger-looking.
Choosing beyond black
Deep black is not the best choice for every eye.
Black can add definition, but depending on skin tone and facial features it can also appear harsh or make the eyes look smaller.
CYAN considers your skin tone, iris colour, lash colour and makeup routine to choose a suitable shade and intensity of brown.
From soft to deep brown, we select the colour by how naturally it complements you.
A fine, discreet lash line
We make the lash roots look fuller, without an obvious drawn line.
A thick line on the lid can stand out when the rest of your face is bare.
CYAN precisely fills the small gaps between the lashes, bringing definition to the lash roots rather than creating a prominent line.
Your eyes retain definition without makeup, and a dark line does not dominate when you close them. Men who prefer a discreet result can also achieve a neat, expressive look without a dramatic change.
Correcting old blue eyeliner
We assess the remaining pigment and its spread before adding colour.
If old eyeliner has turned blue or spread beyond its original line, adding more pigment may make it thicker and heavier rather than resolve the concern.
CYAN assesses the strength and spread of the existing colour, the shape on both sides, and the depth of the remaining pigment.
Depending on its condition, we discuss neutralising the colour, refining the shape, or considering removal before treatment, with safety and a natural finish in mind.
Correction options and the number of sessions depend on the existing pigment. A photo consultation is needed first.
Length and shading for your eye shape
We do not extend every outer corner in the same way.
For shorter-looking eyes, a gentle extension can create a more open appearance. If the eyes seem close together, drawing attention outward can improve the overall balance.
However, a long, sharply defined tail can look unnatural as the eyelids change with time.
When appropriate, we use soft brown shading that fades towards the edge instead of a hard line. We choose a length and intensity that suit your eyes now and remain subtle over time.

How is an eyeliner tattoo design chosen?
We consider eye length, the direction of the outer corners, eyelid creases and your makeup habits. The aim is to add definition where it is needed, rather than use one shape for every eye.
What if I do not know which eyeliner style suits me?
That is completely fine. Many clients arrive without a specific design in mind.
During consultation, we assess eye width, outer-corner direction, eyelid crease, spacing and your makeup routine. Thickness, length and colour depend on whether you want more definition, an elongated shape or a softer look.

Can permanent eyeliner turn blue over time?
Black pigment placed too deeply can appear blue or grey over time. Because eyelid skin is especially thin, pigment depth and concentration are particularly important.
CYAN does not default to dark black. We blend browns to suit your skin tone, iris and lashes, building thin layers at the appropriate depth.
Our colour choices consider how softly the result will blend over time, rather than just its immediate intensity.
Can the pigment spread?
The risk of pigment migration increases when it is placed too deeply in the thin skin around the eyes, or applied too heavily over a broad area.
CYAN begins with fine, precise work between the lashes, gradually building only the required intensity while checking the skin response and pigment placement.
Results and risks vary with skin condition and previous treatments. If migration risk appears high, we explain the achievable limits before adding thickness.
Can I combine this with lash extensions or a lash lift?
Yes, but we do not recommend booking them on the same day as permanent eyeliner.
Please remove lash extensions before your appointment. Lash lifts and extensions can irritate the eye area, so allow around two weeks between them and eyeliner treatment, both before and after.
Let us know about travel or important dates during consultation so we can recommend a suitable order and schedule.
How long does the procedure take?
Consultation, design, numbing and the procedure generally take around one hour.
A longer design consultation or more extensive work, such as an outer-corner extension or shading, may require more time.
Allow extra time if you have an important commitment after the appointment.
Can I wear contact lenses?
Please wear glasses instead of contact lenses on the day. Your eyes may water during treatment, and the surrounding area can become swollen or sensitive.
Wait until swelling and discomfort have settled before wearing contact lenses again. At CYAN, we advise waiting around one week.
Tell us beforehand if you have severe dry eyes, redness or inflammation. Depending on your condition, we may reschedule or suggest seeing an eye specialist.
